Take Part in the 6th Annual Minneapolis Bike Tour to Benefit Minneapolis' Park System

The Minneapolis Bike Tour has become a yearly tradition for cyclist of all ages and abilities since its inauguration in 2007.  This event allows participants to enjoy a tour of Minneapolis on the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway at their own pace with the parkways and roadways free of traffic.  Proceeds from the tour will benefit the Minneapolis Park System.

The Minneapolis Bike Tour takes place on Sunday, September 16th and will start and finish at the Parade Sports Complex Parking Lot at 400 Kenwood Parkway.  There will be a 14 and a 36 mile route to choose from complete with hydration stops, mechanical and medical support.  Afterwards, participants over 21 will receive one free New Belgium beer and everyone is welcome to a post-ride party with live music from the Sweet Colleens and M.O.R.T.  Local food vendors will be on hand, exhibitor booths and Bike Tour merchandise for sale will also be there.  Don't forget your helmet, wearing it is a requirement of  all participants during the ride.

Registration is available online, by phone or in person until September 12th and on-site at the Parade Sports Complex parking lot September 15th & 16th.  Register by September 12th and save a little $$.  Minneapolis Bike Tour t-shirts can be purchased for an additional $5.

For answers to questions about the Minneapolis Bike Tour, visit the FAQ page or the Event Details page.  If you would like to help make this a safe and fun ride, there are still a few Bike Tour Volunteer opportunities available.

I have biked the trails on the 36 mile tour route many times and I look forward to participating in this event with fellow cyclists.  See you on Sunday.
